Alumni Association
The Alumni Association was developed to provide a professional membership organization to NYIM graduates. Benefits include continuing education opportunities, networking and business contacts, referral services, and membership in the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) organization. Discounts are also available for professional insurance, massage therapy supplies, equipment, and NYIM student clinic treatments.

Wouldn’t it be nice to see some old classmates, meet with your old instructors, and shoot the breeze about old times?
We will be raffling off PRIZES: Gift Certificates, CEUs
Contests: Water Balloon and Egg Toss, Frisbee & Others
The food: hot dogs, burgers, and condiments will be provided by NYIM
Bring your own drink. It is a good idea to bring a lawn chair, too.

Meeting Schedule
April 11th, 7:00pm at NYIM
The next Alumni meeting is Thursday, April 11, 2013 from 7pm - 10pm. Dr. Rachel Minniefield, D.C., LMT, will be presenting a free 2-hour continuing education class on Hot Stone Safety. You must register in advance to receive continuing education credit for the class. Call 716-633-0355 for more information or to register for the class.

The Alumni Association is going to have a meeting on Thursday, October 11th from 7pm - 10pm. The meeting will give you an opportunity to meet your new officers and earn 2 free continuing education credits. The new officers are:
President - Lynette Stachewicz
Vice President - Dolores Pina
Secretary - Sarah Stabler
Treasurer - Amy Dahlin
Chris Fronczak, D.C. and Tom Pinckney, LMT will be presenting a class on Plantar Fasciitis. The class will provide 2 continuing education hours free of charge. However, to take advantage of this great opportunity, you MUST be a member of the Alumni Association. Anyone who attends the meeting, but is not an Alumni Association member will not receive any continuing education credit whatsoever. Please bring sheets and oil for the hands on portion of the class.
Because this meeting will be providing continuing education credit, you must RSVP by Monday, October 5, 2012. Seating is limited! Please call 716-633-0355 to register for the meeting.
I am very excited about the upcoming year in my presidency, and looking forward to meeting eveyone.. Also, that if we have larger turn outs, that we will be able to continue this new exciting way of continuing education.

2012 Dinner
The New York Institute of Massage Alumni Dinner will be held at Salvatore's Italian Gardens on June 8th, 2012 at 6 pm. A Cocktail/Cash Bar will be open at 6pm. This year’s dinner will feature a guest speaker, Officer Installation and door prizes.
Come on down to mingle, speak with your fellow graduates and have fun.
The cost for current Alumni members will be $15.00 each, if you wish to bring a guest, the cost will be $30.00 for your guest.
If you would like to attend, please call NYIM and ask to speak with Valerie. She will take all of your information to reserve your dinner. We are looking forward to seeing all of you there.

ABMP Insurance
AANYIM has been notified by ABMP that effective immediately, the rate for their insurance has gone up $25. The rate is now $175.
We would like to increase involvement of Alumni members and would like to hear anything that you think would improve this association. Communication is our # one goal. Along with the regular meeting we will have a guest speaker to address these questions and many others. We hope to see you there. Please send an e-mail or give us a call at 633-0355 X203 and leave a message if you have any ideas that will help improve the association.
