Graduation Requirements

 To be eligible for graduation, the student must meet the following criteria:

  •  Completion of all courses with a passing grade.
  •  Minimum cumulative average of 70%.
  •  Completion of all required student clinic appointments (60).
  •  Complete any penalty or make-up clinics.
  •  Completion of all required community service hours (20).
  •  Completion of CPR & First Aid Course (during enrollment).
  •  Tuition and all school related fees paid in full.
  •  Satisfactory completion of practical massage exams.
  •  Return of all library materials
  •  Completion of an exit interview.
  •  Complete and turn in all papers and calendars within 30 days of the last day of class.

Upon graduating, the student will receive a diploma in Massage Therapy and be eligible to sit for the NYS Licensing Exam. (NYS requires candidate be at least 18 years of age.) Once a license has been granted, it is valid for life in NYS, with renewal due every three years. Graduation ceremonies are held at the end of each term and NYIM reserves the right to not conduct a ceremony should the class be too small.
